My traditional art education began with a BA in Art from Salem State College. Six years later, I studied for 2 years with Bettie Hamilton in Marblehead, MA. Under her tutelage, I discovered a passionate love for color & a much looser style of painting.
This cumulative experience allowed me to unfold my creation of ART as a form of MEDITATION which has continued to this day.
Adding in a weeklong workshop with Barbara Nechis who wrote, PAINTING from the HEART, I learned more about wet into wet techniques. This allowed me to let the painting process guide me with no outcome in mind trusting myself to let go.
A most important influence was meeting artist Lawrence Goldsmith whose Zen style & technique, portrayed on video, taught me how to create extraordinary passages of luminous color.
